Our Church Plants
Catawissa Christian Church | Catawissa, Pennsylvania
Catawissa Christian Church began in May of 2011 as a plant of Bloomsburg Christian Church. Although just 4 1/2 mile apart, the vast differences in community were evident and that the unchurched population was about 85% of the community. Shortly after CCC launched, a devastating flood hit our region, causing us to be displaced for about 6 months while we served the community cleaning up from the flood and helping those devastated by the flood. Since then, we have purchased and now occupy and old bank in the heart of Catawissa up higher in town.
City of Joy | Rwanda, Africa
Four years ago, God blessed BCC with the privilege of planting Joy Christian Church in the Southern Province of Rwanda. The church facilty was constructed next to Joy Christian School - a Pre-K through 6th grade, Christian-based school that educates about 250 students at this time. The school is an outgrowth of the City of Joy Rwanda mission - an endaeavor to take the Gospel of Jesus to this part of Rwanda that began about seven years ago.
Pastor Lambert, JCC's Lead Pastor, and Pastor Emmanuel, JCC's Associate Pastor faithfully lead and seek to disciple a flock of 200-300 men, women and children from the surrounding villages (some who walk from as far as 5 miles away!) while also providing a location for the training of Pastors, as well as Outreach to the community in the form of the construction of homes, help with food, the provision of funds for health insurance and -most importantly - the sharing of the Good News of Jesus Christ!
Each year, members of BCC travel to City of Joy to minister in a variety of ways. Feel free to ask how you might become part of the next missionary trip to Rwanda as we seek to support our brothers and sisters in Jesus 8,000 miles away!
